The Indian State News is committed to producing journalism that is accurate, fair, and independent. This policy outlines the standards our newsroom follows.
1. Accuracy
Every story is verified with multiple sources where possible. We never publish a report we cannot stand behind. When we make a mistake, we correct it promptly and publish a clear note explaining the change (see our Corrections policy).
2. Sourcing
We prefer named sources. Anonymous sources are used only when the public interest justifies it and at least one editor has verified their identity and credibility.
3. Fairness & balance
Stories representing matters of public dispute give all sides an opportunity to respond. Subjects of criticism are given a meaningful chance to comment before publication.
4. Independence
We accept no payment for editorial coverage. Advertising and sponsored content is always clearly labelled and produced separately from the newsroom.
5. Plagiarism & attribution
We do not plagiarise. When we quote other publications, we attribute clearly and link to the source.
6. Conflict of interest
Reporters disclose any personal, financial, or family interest that could reasonably be perceived as a conflict and recuse themselves from covering it.
7. Diversity & respect
We cover all communities with respect and dignity. Race, religion, caste, gender, sexual orientation, and disability are mentioned only when relevant to the story.
This policy is reviewed annually. For questions, write to us via the contact page.
